OUR PROFESSIONAL ADVICE

Page Count: Ultimately, ensure that your word count equals as close as possible to your page size. Readers who buy books expect approximately 500 words on an A4 manuscript page, approximately 200 words to an A5 size page, and 100 words on an A6 size page.

In effect, it is not good practice as an author to attempt to fool readers by asking us to place lots of blank spaces and/or blank pages when working with your manuscript’s formatting to extend the content of your manuscript to a higher page count.

Equally important, it is not good practice to make your book margins substantially wider than what is required for printing.

For example; imagine the disappointment for a reader who buys, say, a 100-page book, only to find out the content was not satisfying according to the price the reader paid for the book.
